The Antrim International Cross-Country Competition took place on Saturday and Kevin Maunsell was on the Irish team for the event. Conditions were good while the underfoot conditions were soft in parts. The race over 4 laps had a very competitive edge to it. The pace was strong from the start and soon a group of seven athletes broke away which included the World Cross Country Silver medallist as well as a Kenyan and a Moroccan athlete while Kevin was in the chasing pack along with Hugh Armstrong and Mark Hanrahan. Kevin ran a very good race when finishing 9th overall in 24 mins 34 secs, great running by Kevin who has had a busy four weeks of racing and still running very well.
