Clonmel Juvenile Athletic Club Notes 10th March
Brilliant performances at County Indoor Champiosnhips
The County under 9 to under 12 indoor championship took place in Nenagh on Saturday the 10th and the under 13 to Junior on Sunday 11th of March and the club was well represented with 50 athletes competing over the 2 days.
There were multiple medal winners with Killian Whelan winning Gold in the Long Jump, Bronze in the 60m and Silver in the relay, Odhran McGrath Silver in the Long Jump, Silver in the High Jump and Bronze in the relay, Cianan Power Gold in the High Jump and double Bronze in the relay, Siobhan Whelan Gold in the 1500m and Gold in the relay, Hannah Berry Bronze in the 60mH and Gold in the relay, Ava Fennessey Gold in the 800m and Bronze in the 60m, Sarah Whelan Gold in the Silver 60m and Bronze in the Long Jump, Elma Casey Bronze in the 800m and Gold in the relay, Gavin English Gold in the 1500m and Gold in the relay, Colm McCarthy Gold in the 800m and Gold in the relay, Conor O Gorman Silver in the 600m and Silver in the relay, Cian Flaherty Bronze in the 60m and Silver in the relay, Matthew Buckley Bronze in the Shot Putt and Bronze in the relay, Daniel Charles Silver in the Long Jump and Silver in the relay, Matthew Downey Silver in the 600m and Silver in the relay, Louis Carroll Bronze in the 600m and Silver in the relay, Conor Flaherty Silver in the 800m and Bronze in the relay, Saoirse Tracy Gold in the 800m and Silver in the relay, Celine Durand Bronze in the 800m and Silver in the relay, Gillian Hughes Gold in the 800m and Gold in the relay and Roisie Flaherty Bronze in the 800m and Bronze in the relay.
Other medals winners were Riain Patterson Gold relay, Oisin DeBarra Gold relay, Cailin Napier Silver 800m, Cathal O Gorman Silver Relay, Michael O’ Reilly Silver relay, Conor O Loughlin Bronze relay, Sam O Sullivan Gold in the 1km Walk, Grainne O Connor Gold in the 1km Walk, Caoimhe Keeley Silver in the relay, Laura Cooney Silver in the relay, Gimena Zapeta Bronze in the relay, Conor James Williams Bronze in the Silver 60m, Adhvaith Divakaran Silver in the relay, Erin O Keeffe Gold in the 300m, Rachel Coffey Gold in the Silver 60m.
As well as medal winners we also had some very fine performance (some first timers competitors) such as Toby Hayes (Long Jump, 60m and relay), Katie Coffey (60m and Long Jump), Emer Brennan (60m ), Jenna Hayes ( 60m, Long Jump and Relay), Aoife Carmody (60m and Relay), Rachel Buckley (600m, Long Jump and relay), Liam Proven (60m, Long Jump and relay), Shane O Mahoney (60m, Long Jump and relay), James Morrissey (60m, Long Jump and relay), Hugh Carolan (60m, Long Jump and relay), Donnacha Hurley (60m, Long Jump and relay), Darragh Boland (300m and Long Jump), Tristan Connor (60m, Long Jump and relay) Kyle O Connor (300m and Long Jump), Siofra O Loughlin (60m and Long Jump) and Lorcan O keeffe in the 1500m.
In total the Clonmel AC amassed 60 medals; 22 Gold, 21 Silver and 17 Bronze a testament to the hard work of the athletes and coaches alike. Clonmel A.C. would like to thank all the athletes that participated especially the first timers and of course the dedicated parents that get them there.
