News filtered through during the week that both Ciara O Neill and Courtney McGuire were reserves on the Irish women’s under 23 team competing next Sunday at the European Cross Country Championships in Abbottstown. This is a fantastic achievement and honour for both members and a just reward for all their training over the past couple of years. Both athletes have put in some sterling performances during the year, like Ciara winning the Munster Senior Women’s Cross Country silver medal, a first by a club member, at the Turnpike in October. Courtney McGuire produced a brilliant effort when finishing 7th under 23 woman in the National Senior Cross Country Championships in Santry recently, so both athletes are running very well at the moment. The Club and indeed all athletic followers in the County wish them the very best of luck.
