The National 10K Road Championships took place in the Phoenix Park last Sunday as part of the Great Garmin Run, Conditions were demanding throughout the race, but it was great to see the Club colours very prominent. William Maunsell ran a brilliant race when finishing 4th in 30 mins 39 secs. Then we had Jimmy Boland, the current County Novice Road Champion also running a brilliant race when finishing in a new Personal Best of 33 mins 32 secs. Joey Feery also ran very well when finishing in 35 mins 47 secs. The 4th scorer on the team and making his debut in these Championships was Billy Moloney and he too ran very well when finishing in 39 mins 34 secs. In the Inter Club competition, the Club was a very respectable 5th in a very competitive team event, based on combined times. This was our highest ever position in this competition and the team was only 5 mins 14 secs off the Bronze medals. We also had very good performances from Donal Ryan in 43 mins 59 secs, Anne Marie Halpin in 44 mins 51 secs and Anne Marie Boland in 44 mins 56 secs.
