The Irish Life Health AAI Junior and U23 Indoor Championships took place in the AIT International Arena, Athlone on Sunday the 28th January and Clonmel’s sole athlete was Colm McCarthy going in the Junior Men’s 800m.
Colm made it to the semi-final stage and ran a great race when finishing 6th in a PB equalling time of 2 minutes and 8 seconds just 4 seconds outside the qualification time to make the final. This was a superb performance considering Colm is only 17 years old and was competing at Junior level (U20).
The next Juvenile race is the East Munster Schools Cross Country Championships in WIT on Thursday 8th February and Clonmel A.C. would like to wish all club athletes competing the very best.
