The Clogheen 5k road race took place in ideal conditions last week and it was great to see Club members supporting this Club event, as it was organised by our members in Clogheen.
Conor Flaherty ran a great race, always up with the leaders throughout the event, he put in a great effort over the closing stages when finishing 3rd in 16 mins 56 secs, great running. Then we had Kealey Tideswell also running well when finishing 10th overall to win the women’s race in 18 mins 29 secs. Then we had Daragh Boland also running very well when finishing 12th in 18 mins 38 secs. Eelco Beckers is another athlete running well at the moment and he was 15th in 18 mins 54 secs. Angela McCann also ran well when finishing 3rd woman in 19:22. We also had good performances from Donal Ryan 18th in 19:38, Suzanne Shine who was 1st over 45 in 20:06, Anthony Power winning the over 60 award when finishing 20th in 20:10, Aisling English was 1st over 35 in a very good time of 20:12, Michael McNamara 25th in 20:20, Pat Coffey 27th in 20:29, Vincent McHugh 28th in 20:33, Anne Marie Halpin 39th in 21:34, Yvonne O Connor 43rd in 21:53 and improving on her BK5k time of 22:01, Brendan Coffey 46th in 22:08, Nicola Maunsell winning the over 50 award in 22:30, Eamon English 63rd in 23:20, Ned O Brien 84th in 25:04, Anne Marie Davis 91st in 25:36, Donna Nagle 110th in 27:39, Noel Howley 112th in 29:57, Aaron Cooney 113th in 28:03, Maurice Boland 117th in 29:18, Aoife McGrath 124th in 31:04 and Myles McHugh 130th in 32:15.
