Moyne was the venue last Sunday for the County Road Relays. The Club had a very good team competing in the Women’s events. The race started and soon Muireann Duffy had the Club in 2nd place over the 3000m circuit, she handed over then to Ruby Carrol in 2nd place and over the 800m Ruby made good inroads on the Dundrum lead when handing over to Emma Murray for the 1500m run. Here Emma made her track speed to good use and as they came back into view had moved into 1st place and she handed over them to Laura Cooney who made every stride over the 800m run a winning one to come home very worthy and convincing Champions in a course record time of 20 mins 10 secs for the combined 6100m race, one of the fastest times ever recorded in the event, brilliant performances all round.
