This very popular event took place in ideal conditions on Good Friday and it was great to see it well supported by Club members as Carrick on Suir AC are great supporters of our races especially the Morrison BMW Cahir 6k series. David Mansfield made his intentions known right from the start of this relatively flat course as he went to the front of affairs and set a strong pace. This effort by David saw him open up a leading on the chasing pack inside the first km. he maintained that pace to come home very worthy winner in 15 mins 11 secs. This was a great effort by David who seems to have recovered very well from his performance in the Rotterdam marathon. We also had good performances from Nigel O Flaherty 12th in 17:11, Brian Carroll 18th in 18:03 and Angela McCann winning the women’s race with a great effort when finishing 19th in 18 mins 15 secs, Aisling English 45th in 21:41, Angela Walsh 47th in 21:55, Tommy Cahill 63rd in 23:35 and Cathy Mansfield 91st in 27:08. To round off a great event our Club team of Aisling English, Angela Walsh and Cathy Mansfield won the Women’s team event, brilliant running all round.
