The Walls of Fethard 4 Mile Road race took place recently where conditions were good. It was great to see the Club very well represented in this popular race. Niall O Ceallaigh ran very well when winning the Men’s over 50 award by finishing 9th in 23 mins 16 secs and he improved on last year’s run by 31 secs, great to see Niall running well again. Then we had Clare Annan also running very well when winning the women’s race in 23 mins 22 secs. We also had good performances from Barry Horgan 17th in 24 mins 9 secs, Anthony Power 20th in 24 mins 37 secs, Suzanne Shine ran very well when finishing 3rd woman in 24 mins 49 secs, Elaine Horgan 25th in 25 mins 16 secs, Anne Marie Boland 26th in 25 mins 42 secs, Edel Roche 35th in 26 mins 52 secs, Ned O Brien ran very well when finishing 1st over 60 in 27 mins 3 secs, he is on a good roll at the moment, having won in Poulmucka recently and improving on last year’s run by 10 secs, Aisling English was 38th in 27 mins 20 secs and a big improvement on last year’s run of 27 mins 53 secs, Marian Flaherty was 40th in 27 mins 31 secs and she improved on last year’s run by 24 secs, Billy Prout 42nd in 27 mins 46 secs, Sancha Quigley 44th in 28 mins 26 secs, Angela Walsh 45th in 28 mins 44 secs, Mellissa McCarthy 50th in 31 mins 21 secs, Sinead Kennedy also ran very well on her comeback to win the Woman’s over 50 award in 31 mins 23 secs, William Lonergan 56th in 33 mins 36 secs, Myles McHugh 57th in 34 mins 3 secs, Catherine Murphy 58th in 34 mins 12 secs and Eamonn Crowley 59th in 34 mins 32 secs.
