The very popular Charleville Half Marathon took place in ideal weather conditions last Sunday. The Club was well represented. Kevin Maunsell underlined his recent good form when he got away with two fellow Irish international athletes, Mick Clohisey of Raheny Shamrocks and John Travers of Donore Harriers in the early stages of the race and they set a strong pace. This group went stride for stride for most of the race and it was only in the closing stages that the places were decided with Kevin running very well when finishing 3rd in 65 mins 14 secs, brilliant performance. Then we had Jimmy Boland making a welcome return to running after a lengthy break and showing that he is back on track for the Dublin City Marathon when finishing 81st in 80 mins 58 secs. Billy Moloney was another athlete that ran very well when finishing 164th in 85 mins 46 secs. We also had good performances from Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 254th in 89 mins 39 secs, Richard O Gorman 264th in 90 mins 3 secs, Oliver Lynch 295th in 91:27, Siobhan McHugh 395th in 95 mins 40 secs, Brendan Coffey 667th in 106 mins 30 secs, Niall Brannigan 743rd in 108 mins 42 secs, Shane Meade 851st in 113 mins 48 secs, Miriam O Gorman 915th in 116 mins 43 secs, Mary O Gorman 1020th in 120 mins 38 secs and Paula Dwan 1095th in 126 mins 15 secs.
