The Munster Senior Cross-Country Championships took place last Sunday in Middlepiece, Twomileborris and great credit must go to the Moycarkey Coolcroo Club for putting on a great promotion of the Sport, despite the heavy rain the course was ideal for Cross Country with firm underfoot conditions. In the Senior women’s race, we had three competitors and it was great to see all three put in very good performances as all three were making their debut at this level of competition. We had Ann Marie Boland running very well when finishing 24th while we also had very good performances from Michelle Doherty 27th and Anne Marie Halpin 29th. Congrats to Dundrum AC on winning the Munster Senior Women’s Inter Club title and they become the first Club in the County to win this coveted title, congrats to all involved. In the Senior Men’s 10k race we had three of the team making their debuts at this level for the very first time and again it was great to see all four athletes run so well. Paul Minogue a newcomer to the Club this year and also a newcomer to Cross Country put in a brilliant performance when finishing 27th in such a high-quality race. Then we had Joey Feery also running a brilliant race when finishing 31st while hot on his heels were Anthony Bowne 34th and Conor Ryan 37th. The Club were 6th Club while both Paul Minogue and Joey Feery were on the County team that won the Inter County Bronze medals, both winning their first medal at this level, brilliant running all round.
