The Medieval series of races returned to Kilkenny on what was a very good day for running. This series of races involved Marathon, 30k, half Marathon and 10k and were well organised.
In the Marathon we had Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy running well when finishing 10th in 3 hours 14 mins 46 secs. Then we had Elaine Clarke making her club debut in what was her debut over this classic distance. She ran very well when finishing 28th in 3 hours 33 mins 54 secs and she should be delighted with this brilliant performance.
In the 30k event we had Jennifer Quinlan making her debut over this distance and she too is another athlete who should be delighted with her performance as she sets her sights on her marathon debut later this year. Last Saturday she ran very well when finishing 49th in 2 hours 45 mins 52 secs. Then we had Anne Marie Davis also making her debut over this distance as she too prepares for an Autumn Marathon. She ran very well last Saturday when finishing 174th in 3 hours 27 mins 26 secs.
In the Half Marathon Ian Patterson ran very well when finishing 49th in 105 mins 36 secs. Then we had Pat Walsh also running very well when finishing 60th in 1 hour 48 mins 48 secs, this was a massive improvement on his Cork Half Marathon earlier this year when running 1 hour 50 mins 40 secs. Marian Quinlan is another athlete who should be very happy with her Half Marathon performance, she was 70th in 1 hour 52 mins 4 secs and a massive improvement on her Boston Scientific half Marathon last month when clocking 1 hour 54 mins 35 secs for the distance.
In the 10k we had Eamon English running well when finishing 35th in 50 mins 8secs while it was also great to see Donne Nagle back running again and she too should be delighted with her performance over this Classic distance for quite some time when finishing 87th in 57 mins 27 secs. It is brilliant to see club members running so well at the moment
