The Tipperary Women’s 10K Mini Marathon took place in Thurles where conditions were very windy but dry and it was great to see Club members running so well. Aine Roche went with the early pace and soon found herself in the top four and she kept that pace going to finish 4th over an undulating course in a very good time of 40 mins 41 secs. Then we had Nicola Maunsell running very well and showing that her training for the Dublin City Marathon is going very well. She started off at a steady pace and was in a group in the mid-teens and grew into the race as the race progressed, moving through the field and was full of running as they hit the 8k mark. Then on the long run in along the Borrisoleigh road she kept the strong pace going to finish 6th in a very good time of 44 mins 2 secs, a PB. Then we had Courtney McGuire and Michelle Doherty also running very well when finishing 8th (44:30) and 9th (44:33) respectively with Anne Marie Boland also running very well when finishing 11th in 44:47. We also had good performances over a demanding course from Aisling English 21st in 48:43, Mellissa McCarthy 36th in 51:07, Emma Ryan 43rd in 51:29, Pauline Condon 53rd in 52:51, Mary O Gorman 64th in 54:07, Maureen Murray 79th in 55:02, Silvia McGee 84th in 55:24, Gillian Hayde 99th in 57:03, Joyce Cullinane 214th in 65:11, Jackie Hickey 237th in 66:39, Carol Dowling 238th in 66:39, Aine Ryan 252nd in 67:41, Mari Murphy Condon 267th in 69:40 and Susan Laste 278th in 70:44.
