This event took place last Saturday where conditions were good. The majority of these athletes targeted this event as their comeback run after their great performances in this year’s Dublin City Marathon and looking at the results it was great to see that they all ran so well, some achieving PBs. Angela McCann underlined her good form when finishing 4th woman in 82 mins 37 secs to with the over 50 award and a major improvement on her Boston Scientific Half Marathon winning run this year of 83 mins 46 secs. Then we had Danny Brosnan also running a great race when finishing 85th in 83 mins 26 secs, this was a massive improvement on his Killarney Club debut where he ran 88:39, a massive PB. We also had great running from athletes like Eddy O Donoghue 114th in 84:59 setting a new PB and a major improvement on his Boston Scientific run of 89:27, Barry Horgan 130th in 86:09 and a good improvement on his Eurofins Half Marathon time of 87:23, Eelco Beckers 190th in 89:11, Aidan Flannery, making his club debut a very good one when finishing 192nd in 89:11, Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 202nd in 89:35, Donal Ryan 212th in 90:01, Anne Marie Halpin ran a brilliant race when finishing 223rd in 90:34 and a massive PB of 3 mins 6 secs on her Charleville run this year. No doubt spurred on by her brilliant performance in this year’s DCM where she was part of the Club’s bronze medal winning team, Elaine Horgan 273rd in 92:32, Sean O Dea 354th in 1:35:37, Peter Kiely 369th in 1:36:53, great to see Peter back competing again after a long layoff due to injury, Pat Coffey 410th in 1:38:02, Aisling English 451st in 1:39:03, Michelle Doherty 458th in 1:39:15 and improving on her Boston Scientific run of 1:40:38, Michael Doocey 684th in 1:45:42, Paul Weymouth 700th in 1:46:03 and a massive improvement on his Boston Scientific run of 1:55:31, a massive new PB, Ian Patterson 756th in 1:47:20, Andrew Shaw making is club debut, ran very well when setting a new PB by finishing in 1:47:54, Michael Ryan in a new PB of 1:47:54 and a massive improvement on his Boston Scientific run of 1:53:40, Jennifer Quinlan 784th in 1:48:09, a new PB and a massive improvement on her Boston Scientific run of 1:54:45, Caroline O Donoghue 843rd in 1:49:44, setting a new PB and a massive improvement on her Boston Scientific run of 1:51:55, Niall Brannigan 921st in 1:51:10, Kenny Brett 986th in 1:53 mins, Marina Quinlan 1066th in 1:55:11, Ivan McMenamin 1151st in 1:57:24, Carmel Delaney 1367th in 2:2:27, Alan Kennedy on his club debut running well when finishing 1499th in 2:08:05, Anne Marie Davis 1666th in 2:16:45, William Lonergan 1847th in 2:35 mins and Catherine Ryan 1885th in 2:49:42. The combined talents of Angela, Anne Marie and Elaine were 2nd in the inter Club competition.
