Clonoulty Rossmore GAA grounds was the setting last Sunday for the County Road relays and despite clashing with the very popular John Treacy 10 Mile it was great to see the Club well represented in both the Women’s and Men’s races. The relay event consisted of 800m, 1500m, 800m and the final leg of 3000m.

These very popular Awards were presented last weekend and it was great to see Sean Tobin winning the Athletics Award for his great achievements in 2019. Sean had a great year in 2019 which saw him compete in the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in early March running the 3000m in 7 mins 56.27 secs

This event attracted a good number of Club athletes last Sunday. Paul Minogue was going very well throughout this 6k run, then over the closing stages he missed a marker and by the time he got back on track he had lost a number of places, he still went well when finishing 19th in 32:31,

Great Club performances in the Newcastle 5K This popular event got the local Road racing season off to a great start where conditions were cold but dry. Conor Fleming ran very well when winning the over 50- award in 18:06 with Angela McCann winning the women’s race in 18:42. We also had good performances from

This popular event took place last weekend and Kealey Tideswell ran a very well over the 5-lap route when finishing 8th overall to win the women’s race in 92 mins 30 secs, great running.

These Championships were held in Galbally where conditions were very demanding and energy sapping. Still we had two very good performances from Kealey Tideswell who ran very well when finishing 8th in 31 mins 11 secs with Aine Roche finishing 10th in 31 mins 44 secs.
