The Limerick Mini Marathon 10K road race took place last weekend. Kealey Tideswell ran a brilliant race to win this event with Dymphna Ryan of Dundrum finishing 2nd and Carol Finn of Leevale AC finishing 3rd. North Cork AC promoted a very successful Half Marathon last Sunday with over 700 athletes competing on a day where conditions were ideal, on a route that took the athletes from Charleville to Kilmallock and back. The Medieval series of races returned to Kilkenny on what was a very good day for running. This series of races involved Marathon, 30k, half Marathon and 10k and were well organised. These events took place last Saturday. In the girls under 10 500m event Amy Ryan performed well in wet and windy conditions. John Laste competed in the Senior 5k where he finished 3rd in 27 mins 17 secs.

The National Half Marathon was held in Ratoath last Saturday morning with Fairyhouse racecourse as the race headquarters. This event was very competitive, the club was represented by Conor Fleming. Conor ran very well when finishing 6th overall in his age group in a very good time of 82 mins 18 secs.

Clonmel played host last weekend to the 21st promotion of the World Masters Mountain Running Championships.
