The Munster under14 to under 19 outdoor Track and Field Championships took place in MTU Cork on Sat 18th and Sun 19th of June and Clonmel AC juvenile athletes were to the fore in many events. The first 4 athletes from each province will qualify to compete in the National Championship in Tullamore in July.

Although the club had much success the performance of the weekend was that of Muireann Duffy who on Saturday in the girls under 19 3000m ran the race of her life when winning the Munster Title in a time of 9 mins 58 secs, so good was the time that it completed obliterated the previous Munster record set 15 years ago by 24 seconds. Muireann returned on Sunday to race the 1500m and took the Silver medal after being narrowly beaten in a time of 4 mins 49 secs. Well done all, fantastic performances. Special thanks to parents and coaches for getting our athletes to this level.
