The Irish Life Health Juvenile Uneven Age & Novice Cross Country Championships took place at Navan Racecourse on Saturday while the country was covered by an Orange weather warning. There were some great performances from Conor Flaherty in the boys u15, Roise Flaherty in the girls u17, Siobhan Whelan girls u17 who finished just one place away from a Gold provincial medal, Cathal O Gorman boys u13, Matthew Downey boys u13 but the standout performances of the day was that of Connor O Gorman who ran a brilliant race when finishing 21st and 3rd scorer on the County team and Cian Flaherty ran very well when finishing 70th and the vital 6th man on the County team that received Bronze medals in a very tightly contested race. In fact, only 7 points separated Dublin the winning county from Tipperary in third place. Well done to all that travelled in such challenging conditions and especially our 2 medals winners. National medals are difficult to come by and its great to see Clonmel A.C. competing at the highest levels. As this was the final Juvenile event of the year the club would like to wish all our athletes a Merry Christmas and Happy new year. Training resumes on the 8th January.
