Our own Sam O Sullivan on the podium after a wonderful display of International competitive race walking in Derbyshire where he finished third in the SIAB Schools International on Saturday.
In doing so he had to walk the race of his life and he did just that by finishing with a time of 13 mins 58 secs knocking more than 30 seconds off his 3Km personal best achieved at the qualifying Tailteann games earlier this month. Well done to his coach Frank Lynch for ensuring that his training program had Sam at his peak for this event.
It has been nearly 10 years since we had a juvenile compete at this level. Super achievement.
