The Munster Half Marathon and Marathon championships were held in conjunction with the Great Limerick Run recently. It is great to report that our own Tom Quinn is the Munster Marathon Champion over 55. Tom ran a brilliant race that day. He went out at a strong pace, reaching 10k in 55 mins 53 secs and he kept that pace going when going through 20k in 1 hour 51 mins 58 secs and reaching halfway in 1:58:06. At this stage he was pacing himself very well and he was able to maintain that good pace by reaching 30k in 2:48:19 and crossing the finishing line in a very good time of 3 hours 59 mins 45 secs when finishing 481st overall.
In the Half Marathon Angela McCann is still able to mix it with the best and in Limerick she once again ran a brilliant race when winning the Munster Senior Women’s Bronze medal in 1 hour 24 mins 36 secs. This performance also saw her winning the Munster Women over 45 Silver medal, brilliant performances all round.
