The Medieval festival of races took place in Kilkenny last Saturday with Club members performing very well in a variety of distances, which is great to see as the Dublin City marathon appears over the horizon. The performance of the weekend must go to Joey Feery who put in his best performance to date to win the Medieval marathon. Joey started off strong going with the 30k athletes and soon found himself clear of the chasing pack as he clipped along at 3:45 to 3:50 km pace, going through 10k in 37:29. He maintained that pace for most of the event, leading at hallway by over 3 minutes and reaching 30k in 1 hour 58 mins 53 secs. He kept the pace going all the way to the line to win in 2 hours 57 mins 7 secs, fantastic running and a great reward for all the hard training.
