The Club promoted a very successful Tipperary Water 10k road race last Sunday over a new flat route, starting on the Blueway. The Club would like to thank all our stewards who ensured that the whole event was a great success.
It was also great to see so many Club members taking part, which numbered 45. Right from the start on the Blueway William Maunsell made every stride a winning one as he powered his way round to win in a brilliant time of 29 mins 55 secs and dipping under the 30 minutes for this Classic distance, fantastic performance and brilliant to see. Then we had Nigel O Flaherty also running well when finishing 7th in 35 mis 33 secs. Courtney McGuire put in another great performance when winning the women’s race very convincingly in a very good time of 35 mins 47 secs. Dermot Logue also ran very well when 12th in 36 mins 37secs with Kealey Tideswell finishing 2nd woman in 36 mins 55 secs with Angela McCann 3rd woman in 38 mins 1 secs.
We also had good performances from Eelco Beckers 17th 39:23, Brendan Walshe 18th 39:41, David Kennedy making his Club debut also ran very well when 20th in 40:11, Jamie Byrne 22nd 40:22, Anthony Power was 1st over 60 with a very good run when finishing in 40:36, Dick O Gorman also ran very well when 1st over 50 in 41:10.
Other impressive performances included Gary Grant 27th 41:15, Eddy O Donoghue 28th 41:19, Peter Kiely 29th 41:26, Donal Ryan 30th 41:29, Caroline Godard 31st 41:33, Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 35th 42:13, Anne Marie Halpin 36th 42:15, Pat Coffey 40th 43:05, Aisling English 41st 43:18, Sean O Dea 42nd 43:20, Vincent McHugh 43rd 43:37, David Lorigan 52nd 44:35, Nicola Maunsell was 1st 0ver 50 in 44:41, Michelle Doherty 54th 44:45, Brendan Coffey 57th 45:17, Jennifer Quinlan 61st 45:58, Sam O Sullivan race walked the distance in a very impressive time of 48:15, Marina Quinlan 71st 48:57, Jessica Kennedy making her Club debut was 72nd in 49:03, Michael Ryan 78th 49:53, Caroline O Donoghue 82nd 50:46, Anne Marie Davis 90th 51:47, Lynda Madden 93rd 52:55, Denise Donnelly 96th 53:36, Helen O Ceallaigh 97th 53:36, Barbara Doran 103rd 54:43, Brian Tyrrell 104th 54:51, Noel Howley 105th 55:17, Clare O Reilly 106th 55:36, Myles McHugh 114th 59:41, Annabelle Normile 120th 61:07, Cathy Mansfield 129th 65:40 and William Lonergan 132nd 67:13.
