The popular Clogheen 5K road race took place in ideal conditions last week and it was great to see Club members supporting this Club fixture. Gavin English from Burncourt and one of our up and coming Juveniles ran a brilliant race when finishing 2nd 17 mins 8 secs in only his 2nd road race having previous won the Canon Hayes 5K in Tipperary Town a few weeks ago. Gavin has made great progress since joining the Club in the last twelve months. Then we had Kealey Tideswell also running very well when winning the Women’s race in 19 mins 40 secs. Kealey is another athlete running very well at present as she has had numerous great performances and indeed winning performances in the hill running series in Munster in recent months. Connor o Gorman won the Junior Men’s award when running very well in 20 mins 6 secs. Then we had Aine Roche also running very well when finishing 2nd woman in 20 mins 16 secs. We also had good performances from Vincent McHugh 21st in 21:03, Sean McCarthy 23rd in 21:15, Neil Proven 26th in 21:33, Pat Coffey 27th in 21:39, Nicola Maunsell when finishing 3rd Senior Woman in 21:55, making it a club 1,2,3 in the senior women’s prizes, Eamonn English 38th in 22:39, Ruby Carroll winning the junior woman’s prize in 24:54, Julie Tideswell in winning the women’s over 50 award in 25:10, Donna Nagle 60th in 25:57, Noel Howley 63rd in 26:36, Nicole O Gorman 64th in 26:36, Cathy Mansfield in winning the women’s over 45 award in a PB of 26:40.
